Net Ummah had the great privilege last year to photograph the original Victorian/Georgian features at England’s First Mosque. England’s First Mosque was was founded by Sheikh Abdullah Quilliam – A Victorian convert to Islam.
Note: All photos are the ownership of Net Ummah. If you wish to use any of these photos then please credit as follows: “Images: Net Ummah”
The beautiful Georgian building – England’s First Mosque – Brougham Terrace, Liverpool. I particular like those tall rectangular windows.
Love how the light hits some of these Victorian arches.
Each Victorian cornice has to be replicated by a plaster expert. How skilful to replicate those delicate details.
The windows are from the Georgian period and are being restored to their original glory. Each window restoration can cost up to £3000.
This is the very place that Sheikh Abdullah Quilliam used to make bread to feed the homeless and orphans! We are extremely proud to be part of this project.
